The Texas Chemical council awards BASF Freeport site

The awards recognize BASF for excelling in community relations, emergency response, environmental performance, and safety while striving for continuous improvement.

The BASF site in Freeport, Texas, has been recognized as an industry leader by the Texas Chemical Council (TCC). TCC recently presented the company with its Sustained Excellence in Caring for Texas Award and Distinguished Safety Award. The awards recognize BASF for excelling in community relations, emergency response, environmental performance, and safety while striving for continuous improvement. The awards were presented at the annual TCC Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Conference in Galveston, TX.

“At the Freeport Site, we are dedicated to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees, contractors, and our community,” said Adebayo Adekola, Site Services Director. “We are proud of our site’s hard work and dedication to excellence in all that we do. This recognition would not be possible without the collaborative efforts of every member of our site – thank you.”

“We congratulate the 2022 TCC Award winners for their remarkable efforts in safety performance,” said TCC President Hector Rivero. “They continue to transcend expectations with their operational expertise. Their achievements serve as motivation to others in the industry, and we could not be more thankful for their astounding work.” The Caring for Texas Awards program was established by the TCC Board of Directors in 1998 to honor companies for their commitment to continuous improvement in community involvement, emergency response, and environmental stewardship. The Sustained Excellence in Caring for Texas Award recognizes chemical and petrochemical companies that demonstrate sustained excellence in community awareness, emergency response, security, and pollution prevention. Applications are anonymous and recipients of the annual awards are selected by a panel of judges made up of industry leaders and community representatives. The Distinguished Safety Award recognizes TCC members whose safety records demonstrate commitment to safe operations and overall improvement in safety performance.
